Little bibles for little girls

The girls a growing ! Update on lil simcha. She has been such a blessing, this little girl literally wakes up smiling. We pray the joy ( simcha ) of the Lord will be her strength ! We are starting to think through the homeschooling process, and wanted to get a early start. If anyone has some good advice in this area we could appreciate it. Zionroadfellowship@gmail.com. Thanks.

  2. A homeschooling tip: It's a part of life, not something you do at a certain time of the day. I see the sisters there at Zion already schooling their children and it is a great blessing.

Deut 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:

5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

If I could do it all over again, I would use the bible as my main textbook. Something like weekly passages to study and learn. Using that passage as handwriting practice, copying once every day or so. Dictate the passage at the beginning of the week and use any spelling errors as spelling words. Use any unknown words as vocabulary. Study the people in that passage. What can we learn from the, good or bad? Why? If it was bad, what should they have done differently? Etc. There are so many things you can learn from God's word!

God bless you all. We love you very much.

  3. You can teach everything with the Bible! My last two that have learned to read only used the Bible. I was so thankful to hear Miriam's first word read was Lord, followed by God. She would sit by me as I read my Bible in the morning and point to a word and say "wats that mamma" I would say "God" then she would begin to search the page for other "God"s and point them all out to me. She did that word by word until she had quite a bit of words learned. Another thing that helped was we sing hymns and I made her "song sheets" that she would follow along with. As they get older, what better history than the book of Acts? I have only met one other family that has used the Bible to teach reading and other subjects. Their website is inkleinations.com and they have some hints. We were not as structured though. They are from St. Louis, MO.
