Tunics and Such:
You may notice browsing through our blog that some of the brothers at Zion wear long shirts or tunics. Let me explain why: The Bible clearly teaches that women should dress modestly, and it can be implied that men should dress modestly too. There are many ways for both men and women to dress modestly. Each family at Zion is free to express modesty in their own unique way - many of the brothers have come to appreciate wearing a tunic. It is a simple and practical piece of clothing that serves the purpose of covering our mid section. This is especially useful in a communal context in which we share close quarters with other families and frequest visitors/guests. We don't want to be a stumbling block to anyone, and wearing a long shirt is one way to accomplish this. Ultimately we dress this way to show love for one another. Contact us with questions.
