Life on the road.

One day at a time. We never really know for sure what the day may bring forth. We wake up we pray we set out. Often times its very predictable, long stretches of highway with wind and sun.  We should be in oregon by the weekend and we look forward to seeing the brothers there. Br. Burton is just about to cross the country with his family so lets all remember to pray for him. A host of inspiring thoughts have crossed my mind these days, one id like to share if I may is. The birds that live in cages are well fed and taken care of, however they lack their freedom. While the birds who are free have a harder life style but again they are free to fly and be led by the wind. I often wounder what type of lifestyle the master truly wants us to live. I can see the stable home good for a family and children. And I can see the day to day travels good for a mans soul and his faith. Is it to radical of an idea to somehow balence the two together ?

    1. Thanks for the blessing. Yes there is a a lot of beautiful things to see but in a reality its still not our home ! Let us remember we are just passing through a fallin world filled with sin and shame. The lord is coming and will not tarry, let us be found watching.

  3. Good thoughts/questions on balancing life. Personally, I'm drawn to thinking that some kind of stable but communal life is probably the best model, especially if there are children involved. I think the communal model makes each member more efficient b/c labor & costs are shared therefore the members are more free from the usual financial cares of life, which frees up time for evangelism etc. Also, close proximity of living helps promote unity and fellowship and also cuts down on waste - since things can be shared easily ( tools, cars etc). Freedom is good, but investing in one place is good too as relationships with non believers can be fostered and developed and can lead to discipleship. Kate
